Import Chase Bank Transactions into QuickBooks Desktop

How to download Chase transactions and import them into QuickBooks Desktop with Web Connect (.QBO), CSV, or IIF -- after Direct Connect ends, no upgrade needed.

If your QuickBooks Desktop version is discontinued and Chase bank feeds stop connecting automatically, you can still bring every transaction in by hand in a few minutes. Here's the Chase-specific procedure.

Download from Chase

  1. Sign in at chase.com and open the account.
  2. Choose Download account activity.
  3. Set your date range.
  4. For file type, pick QuickBooks (.QBO / Web Connect) if offered; otherwise choose CSV / spreadsheet.

Import into QuickBooks Desktop

If you downloaded .QBO: In QuickBooks, go to Banking › Bank Feeds › Import Web Connect File, select the file, and match it to your Chase account.

If you downloaded CSV: Convert it to .QBO or IIF with a converter (ProperSoft, MoneyThumb/Bank2QBO, or DocuClipper), then import as above. See the master guide on importing after Direct Connect for the full method.

Back up first. Import writes into your company file. Take a backup and start with a short date range to confirm the mapping.

Make it routine

Download from Chase weekly or monthly and import -- your books stay current with no dependence on Intuit's servers and no upgrade. The same approach works for any bank; this page just covers Chase's export screen specifically.

Keep going

Your Desktop doesn’t have to end when Intuit says so.
